Episode 2 - Fun Rares and Clashing to Win

from The Mana Pool

Welcome to the second episode of The Mana Pool!  I'm your host, Chewie, and I'm joined by another group of dorks this time.  Brian - occasional writer for Cardshark, law student, and not a pro.Squanto - token n00b, token Indian (that's American Indian), and all around, uh, guy. In this episode, we discuss a few cards from Lorwyn that aren't tournament killers, aren't big cash cards, and aren't getting the respect or attention they deserve.  Brian has come up with five cards to check out, keep an eye on, and get your creative synapses firing.  Then we tackle an idea that Squanto had while work was slow one day.  Clash is a cool new mechanic, but is it feasible (or even possible) to build a deck that uses clash specifically to win?  I came up with a red and white deck skeleton that does just that.  Here's that list for your perusal. Creatures (20)4 Flamekin Harbinger4 Springjack Knight4 Sentry Oak2 Glarewielder4 Squall Drifter2 Incandescent Soulstoke Spells (20)4 Lash Out4 Pollen Lullaby4 Entangling Trap3 Rebellion of the Flamekin3 Judge Unworthy2 Riddle of Lightning This deck is completely untested and is only theoretical, but we're going to put it together, test it out, and get back to you in an upcoming episode about how it performs.
