Jackie Garcia, a bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker, shares her background and experiences that have shaped her career. Growing up in Tijuana, Baja California, Jackie migrated to the U.S. with her family at the age of 11, seeking a better life. She candidly discusses the challenges she faced during her middle school years, including adjusting to a new culture, language, friends, and societal trends. These transformative experiences had a profound impact on Jackie's life and eventually guided her towards becoming a therapist. As she progressed through her education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Master's Degree in Social Work from California State University, Fullerton, Jackie gained valuable clinical experiences in various settings, such as mental health outpatient programs, non-profit organizations, field-based community mental health, and private practice.
