On September 20, 1991, Roberto LoRusso interviewed Kurt Cobain before their show at Toronto’s Opera House. This was literally just days before Nirvana’s album “Nevermind” was released. The “embarrassing” “trainwreck of an interview” (his words, not mine) was captured on cassette and then hidden away for almost 30 years. In 2018, Rob found that tape and decided to post the interview on his bandcamp page. Not long after, the dude went viral! In this episode of Judy Talks, Rob and I chat about, not so-much the interview itself, but what lead up to the interview, what thoughts were going through his head, how did it feel to experience his own 15 minutes of fame as media outlets around the world wanted to interview him, and what it was like sitting in a room with an icon before he was an icon.
