In Episode 2 Vanna Pilgrim sits down with Kyle Pilgrim, Sam Smartt, Hap Harris, Randall Bramblett, Davis Causey and George Fontaine to discuss the Georgia Theatre opening as a live music venue in the late 1970's. The Old Hippie Podcast is a collection of stories and interviews led by Vanna Pilgrim centered around the conception and early years of key venues: the Uptown Lounge, The Georgia Theatre, and Super Jam. Our purpose is to create a space to share the hardships, joys, losses, and successes experienced during those decades. The podcast will feature local business owners, employees, and musicians who collectively contributed to a moment in time we don’t want to forget, and to preserve the memories surrounding this era of Athens music and culture.
