Episode 2: The Hero’s Journey - Why Do Many of Us Resist the Call to Action with Special Guest Zissis Liolios

Welcome to Episode 2 of the Awakening Leaders Podcast!  Joining me today is friend and HeartMath colleague Zissis Liolios. Along with being a HeartMath trainer, Zissis is also a transformational coach, consciousness facilitator, heart imagery teacher, and a Living in The Heart mentor. One of the things I admire most about Zissis is his passionate work in co-creating healing containers for men...where men gather in heart-conscious ways to discuss important topics designed to heal and strengthen the connection between heart, mind, and soul. As part of his admirable work, he has co-created a series called the Divine Masculine Roundtable, which can be found on his YouTube channel, ElevateMe Academy.. In this episode, we discuss the Hero’s Journey and specifically the stage of the journey where the Hero resists the call to adventure. As a part of this discussion, we explore: What is the Hero’s Journey What is an archetype The typical stages and phases of the Hero’s Journey How the Hero’s journey speaks to the collective human condition Why many tend to resist the call to adventure How  the journey expresses itself at the individual, community, and global collective The admirable work Zissis co-creates within the divine masculine collective And so much more! More about Zissis Liolios Working with Heart based modalities, Zissis has seen significant shifts with his coaching, corporate, and first responders’ clients bringing much relief from event related stress incidents and trauma. This understanding and real experiences of the power and intelligence of the heart has been the driving force. Recently he co-created The Divine Masculine Roundtable on his YouTube channel Elevate Me Academy, where conscious men discuss various topics with authenticity, transparency and honesty thus creating a container for understanding and healing. Zissis’s purpose and life mission are to awaken this hearts intelligence in as many people as possible, bringing a more coherent consciousness on the planet and by extension healing oneself and radiating more love.   One of his favorite quotes by  Einstein said “Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness.” Zissis believes passionately that if we want our species to survive, if we are to find the meaning of life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer. It is the variable that we ignored too long. In this time of great change Love is the only answer.
