Episode 20: Making decisions in hard seasons: When you want certainty and your brain feels full

from Grace In Real Life podcast · host Jill E. McCormick, writer + speaker

It feels increasingly hard to make decisions during this season, doesn't it??!? Two reasons we find it so hard to decide are that we are chasing certainty and suffering from brain fatigue. So if you're struggling with decisions -- big ones or small -- you're in the right place because today we break free from what's tripping us up as we try to make the best God-centered decisions we can.  Let's start by talking about certainty.  We want to make good decisions. We want to be prudent moms who act responsibly. To do and be this, we believe we need all the information.  But sweet friend, we are not a people made for exactitude and perfection. Let's talk about brain fatigue. Brain fatigue isn't an unhealthy habit you've picked up and made your own. Brain fatigue is a biological issue almost all of us are dealing with right now. Decision fatigue plagues us. And it may stem from cognitive overload.
