He's equal connect them drive bones is equal connect them drive bones is equal connect them Drive bones are here the word of law Well, it all bone connected to you foot bone you put bone connected to you He'll bone he'll bone connected to you and hello everyone and welcome to the backdoor pilot of our podcast the bones zone Are in-depth recap of a mid-2000s Fox crime procedural show that Google refers to as an American comedy series My name is Andrew and with me are I'm Catherine and we have a special guest this week Welcome Margaret welcome to the zone Margaret. Thank you so much for having me guys. I'm just really excited to bone down with you Yeah, we're so thrilled to have you for this very special occasion. Yeah, so as we do every week on the bone zone We're gonna be talking about an episode of the show bones to be the pilot Yeah, we've also got for you our bone of the week feature Yes, I think you're really gonna like and just a little bit of current bones news every week There's something new to talk about with the show so yeah, and if there's not we're gonna start making stuff up It's gonna be news about bones until life makes old bones of us all.

Yeah, so should we start we should we start some news? Should we just get the other way first? Yeah, let's start with some news, but then we're just gonna we're just gonna talk through this delightful pilot episode Yeah, I'm really excited to be here with you both on this momentous occasion of this thing that we've joked into exist Yeah, just over over the last three hundred ninety nine episodes We have joked this podcast of all podcasts into existence sure have Emily Deschanel also known as temperance bones Brennan on the TV show Bones is going to be in a new show on TNT It's called animal kingdom and she gave the Hollywood Reporter an interview in which she talked extensively about her experience on the show bones And it sounds like she and David Boryana's got a long fine There are a lot of good quotes in here, but let's just focus on the on the Boryana's bits She says of their relationship he was very respectful of me he respected me from the very beginning And I will always appreciate that and she says we had an agreement We spent more time with each other than we did with our own spouses with anybody else really and we fully acknowledged that we would drive each other crazy We gave each other permission to walk away at different times or just say you're really bothering me right now or you're annoying me I have to get away from you and we rarely use that because we gave each other permission And we talked about it It really helped us to get along better in that way and he always respected me and I love that about him We laugh about a million things and he became like a brother and played jokes on me and stuff For some reason it became a joke that if someone was acting badly you give them a diet coke Uh-huh, so that's it sounds like a funny joke. That is a very funny joke.

Yeah, but it's you know That's I respect their their working relationship there It doesn't sound like their best pals and I do like it when actors on a TV show who have to be pals or partners are very good pals in real life Hmm obviously the dream yeah, obviously a dream like all the Star Trek next generation people who still hang out and they're all like each other's kids like God parents and stuff but on the plus side at least it's on situation where she's like actually he was actually harassing me the entire time And CBS didn't do anything about it. So what's not CBS it was on Fox. It was on Fox. So brass levels So that's yeah again, that's in the Hollywood Reporter.

We'll link it in the show notes and it's it's a fun read if like me You're always hungering for your next bone. Yeah, absolutely Talk about the pilot episode of bones one of the many reasons that we have Margaret here with us as a special guest is That she had never really seen never never seen a full episode of bones before and maybe had seen about eight minutes one time so we obviously Andrew and I are boneheads and We had wanted to invite some some fresh bones to the mix I've seen more than eight minutes I think I've seen the second half of an episode that involves a dramatic reveal that happens sometime in the second season Being referenced and possibly undone. Oh sure. Okay.

Yeah, there's a character that I met first as a foe who appears here as a friend And I was like, oh, oh interesting contacts interesting. Let's not get ahead of our stuff cover every week Expect about this huge twist that happened sometime around 2008 just in case that's much later than season two But anyhow, so you had never seen any like a full episode of this show before never seen a full episode Can you just give us a little bit of a summary of Like how who the main characters are and how we meet them because I do I do think this is a pretty good pilot as pilots go I'm gonna go ahead and own upfront that the only character whose name I remember is bones. Okay. Yeah We remember all the names of all the characters forever.

Yeah, we're good Yeah, I'm just gonna gesture like loosely in the direction of other characters Just give us a signal and we can fill in names as as needed. Yep. Yep So obviously your first character of importance is bones, right? She has other names because she doesn't like it when you call her bones But whether I remember those other names is anyone's guest temperance Brennan Based on Kathy Reich's a real-life bone scientist who who is the inspiration for Dr.

Temperance bones Brennan Which is a very thorough inspiration because like not only is actor temperance Brett bones Brennan like a bones doctor A freshly best-selling New York Times author. Yes like Kathy Reich's who's written a fictionalized version of her own life Which means like is this like the image Russian nesting doll like a picture of you wearing a t-shirt with yourself on it? And then you're wearing a t-shirt yourself on it just forever. Yeah, I think it's truly a snake eating its own bones.

Yeah Just just to collect those Kathy Reich's a forensic anthropologist who wrote books about being a forensic anthropologist Who's then turned into a TV show with a forensic anthropologist who writes books about being a forensic anthropologist Well being a forensic anthropologist and solving crime. Yes, obviously just to be clear for the FBI Yeah, but we're getting ahead of ourselves when the episode opens she's coming into one of the airports I was watching this with my boyfriend who's from DC and he told me which one but I surely do not remember Hmm. That's call it dullest sure sure and someone has decided to play a little prank on her and like call the feds down upon her Which coincidentally allows for a lot of useful exposition It's like what does she have this skull in her bag? Why does she have special credentials that she make her interesting?

Oh, who's a scally wag who caused this whole thing? Oh wait, she's got fighting ability. Yeah, but she's almost never gonna use those for that fighting ability again It's interesting that they did they did go to very great lengths to emphasize how she's a martial arts expert Yes, I was like the first fucking 30 seconds and then it's never really bad I'm never again, but sure And who's a scam the scally wag who played this prank on her? It's David born Yaddis TV's David born Yaddis.

Yes I can try to spare who's name is on this show is Sealy Booth. Yeah, sure FBI special agent Sealy Booth Sealy Booth Sealy Booth who loves playing pranks on her and they have a contentious relationship because I guess she's held himself crimes before but When she told him like look this femur is telling me that that dude is a killer He's been like wall femurs can't tell you that much Yeah, never mind. I'm gonna ignore you and I'm gonna arrest somebody else and then the killer's have almost gotten away And so she is putting her foot down with all of its bones inside it And she is saying I am not consulting with you anymore unless we are equal partners in these detective cases where you have to take All of the things that I say seriously like I got to talk to the chief and then he talks to the chief and she was like Whoa sure so then they find a body of roughly Shonda Levy, but like not literally that They find a body and she's been like a ballet dancer who plays tennis with very fine features who's biracial Yes, but not Lenny Kravitz biracial whatever that means That is a common other guy another character who has some primary importance in the show who is not as I initially assumed a sex worker Based on the elaborate long line lace corset strapless undergarment She is inexplicably wearing under a standard button-down shirt. Yes requires no special lingerie Which she equally inexplicably flashes at someone working for the airline within 10 seconds of the episode starting.

Yes, okay great Yes worker no not a sex worker bone holograph artists. Yeah, so this is Angela Yes, she is she is an artist first and foremost, but she also helps like reconstruct bodies for the bone lab The Jeff the Jeffersonian as and as you might be able to tell from this first scene with her She's just a little bit mischievous a little bit horny little sexy. Yeah, well sexy Yeah, and wacky she is so we learned kind of over the course of this episode that she and Brennan are friends and that We learned that bones has had this previous boyfriend who she broke up with and part of what she's worried about is that She can't actually interact with people very well because she can only read the bones She can only read the box and so we have this we have this conversation with Angela sort of later into the episode where Bones talks about how worried she is about this and Angela says like you're gonna be able to figure this out You know like you don't need to worry it is something that like you this is just who you are But they they have all these She's like they talk about how psychology is a soft science and Angela's like people are soft and then people are mostly soft Yeah, except for their bones. Yeah people are mostly soft except for their bones And this is the all-time greatest MVP line of the entire Except for their bones is just a really it's how are we ever gonna top never no and it's a it's a it's a feet pulled off Much less successfully by like that procedure aware the magician helped the FBI Yeah, because that one was like well magic is really the most helpful of the sciences It's more plausible that that bones would be helpful than magic But they're both also working from the same template where you've got this outside quirky group Who's helping the FBI understand criminals better?

Yes crimes better? Yeah, it's very weird though because they are part of the government But like somehow it's almost as though these two different government agencies don't have any template for working together Which I have never heard it before about an issue with government agencies so but like So Booth keeps asking her you basically makes her be a part of this investigation And she demands that she gets to like go into the field and stuff and he doesn't want her like in pinching on his territory or whatever But there's this body and it's sunk into a pond and it is oh And bones is all like yeah, there's a body in the cemetery the cemetery is full of bodies Bones slice and straight through to the bony logic of every problem every problem Just the spine of any any issue and but no this this is a murder scene because there's a body that's like dumped into this pond And this is how I'm body. This is where we then meet Angela's wack-a-do hologram Crime thingy well so there's one there's one set a market we can pitch it back to you and sec But there's one well there are a couple of characters we meet in this in this round we first meet We meet Zack Addie who is the intern at the Jeffersonian kind of a shadow to Dr. Brennan who's not like a huge force in this episode But you know he does have unfortunate hair he does have super important here and we also meet Hodgens who is a conspiracy theorist, but also a quote unquote bug and slime guy Yeah, who can use like the the bugs and other stuff like growing on bones to help like date when the when the death might have happened And can also clean bones so they can be more thoroughly examined by our expert bone scientists.

Yes, yes One of the many things that will continue to delight us for the next I looked up how many six years 246 episodes of the show bones. Yeah, so that's five that is five full years So for the next five full years as we do this weekly podcast one of the continuing the lights will be how many different ways They managed to find a stupid new way for Hodgens to get all of the flesh off of bones Because you would think once they figure out a good way like that stick with it. No, no They're constantly innovating on the show bones. Yeah a thing that I was not expecting there to be nearly as much of in this episode As there was was lengthy montages with indie rock music wherein bones rebuilds the bones.

Yes I thought we had told you about all the scenes where she looks at bones while music plays I feel like we prepared you for this she squints at bones and we learned that this is the origin of the term squints Which we'll call them forever. Yeah, who's called everybody squints because they're always looking at stuff And he found a cat because he's a cop. Yeah, it's the hearts of people but not the bones No, so those are the characters that matter so far You want to jump back in with right? So we get the hologram and once the hologram is built of the fine-boned Deadest player everybody's like she look a bit familiar and they're like yeah, she does It turns out she looks just like this intern from the hill who's been missing for a long enough time bones in a in a pond Yeah, um and guess what guys what what?

Booth has a personal connection to this one. I was like it's not breading. No, the other beanie He has a personal connection to this one because he was a person who worked her disappearance initially So once they figured out the skeleton belongs to this Hill intern they go and they make hell on the hill and Brennan gets too feisty and she doesn't understand that she has to give something of herself to other people before they're gonna give something to her Because people are mostly soft except for their bones She doesn't understand but their bones. This is the dynamic is that she tells him about bones and she and he tells her about basic human psychology That's how that's why they go so well together She can learn so much about people from just their bones like about this girl She like broke her wrist biking when she was eight But then she broke it again because she wasn't gonna be cut down She was a fighter so she got back on that bike and failed again very shortly after and that's why the bone is double broken Yeah, you'll hear a lot on the show about remodeling This is how I this is where I found what remodeling was sure and it's where you can tell that a bone was broken or like had time to heal Like a difference between a fatal wound and a non-fatal wound is if there's remodeling then it had time to start healing and if there isn't Isn't then it means they were dead okay?

As a connoisseur of the crime procedural like usually have enough plot that there can even be a surprise outcome You need like most of the minutes in the show to tell that story and here they don't instead They spend many minutes with her just looking at bones I tell you as an audience member nothing except bones or where she gets her information from Yeah, so it's an interesting choice But luckily because she can learn so incredibly much from the bones They just knock out all of the scenes where you would like go to a bar and find out who she was drinking with Yeah, you don't have anyone because she can know And you just yeah lots of exposition when we look at a hologram some episodes do have some interviews with folks Just because you do need a couple people who isn't and then one guy who it definitely is and another person or two who it isn't Yeah, to make any good crime procedural But yeah, you're right part of the part of the genius the transcendent genius of the show bones is the short cuts The shortcuts that they get to take because of the bones because of the bones In fact like getting the skin and stuff off the bones is often like the investigative block of an episode of Yes, I think it is time for the bones time the bones of the week You The bones the week you take us in a very different direction they do and at some point obviously after we do another 10 or 20 episodes of the So we're gonna dedicate the sound effect for bones of the week So we're kind of settling into our yeah, please come suggest what you think the bones soundtrack like the show bones We need at least the first season before we really settle into what we're going to be So the bones of the week are the ossicles a set of three tiny bones of the inner ear the middle ear Excuse me. They are called the ossicles and there are three of them the malleus the inkis and the stapes They are given their lightning so they're distinctive shapes the hammer the anvil and the stirrup respectively What are you talking about they are crucial elements of how we hear the ossicles directly couple sound energy from the eardrum to the Oval window of the cochlea while the stapes is present in all tetrapods Sorry, obviously a tetrapod is a four-limbed vertebrate the malleus or malleus and the inkis evolved from the lower and upper jaw bones present in reptiles that shit is Right here is why these three bones are notable within the pilot episode of bones They initially find these three extra little bones just little tiny ones and they're like frog bones They're like oh, these are totally frog bones obvious. It's frog bones. I really nothing frogs had bones I don't know how frogs do have bones.

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how I got children have bones Does that mean I think it's had cartilage? I think there are animals that just have cartilage I'm gonna get I'm gonna get to the frog bones in a second But um, but yeah, the body was like dug up from a like a marsh or something so they're like oh, yeah Just probably frog bones.

Sorry about it. Really really really frogs But then hajans has done a toxicology report and he is capable He finds out that she was on this medication which includes medication for nausea and then bones looks at these little three bitty bones and goes Oh, dip you guys This is not a frog bone. These are the bones of a fetal ear and they were like oh dip. She's pregnant Hmm now I had questions namely how well when a man and a woman love each other very much how plausible is it that a Forensic anthropologist whose entire life's work is in identifying bones How plausible is it that she would look at bones and be like those are definitely frog bones when in fact they were human bones?

Oh, so you've looked into this forest. I asked Twitter And two people after I requested somebody who either gone to medical school or studied anatomy or was a marine biologist or an OBGYN Two people were worried that I had a question about mermaid sex Which literally looking back would have been a good guess But I did talk to someone who talked to her marine biologist friend who said that yes It can be difficult with very very small bones if you don't have the skulls like you could get confused if you didn't have the skulls And you didn't have a pelvis a frog pelvis and a human pelvis look nothing all like frog has an almost hollow pelvis Toes would also be a giveaway because obviously to frog toes are gonna be you know much much longer But the big difference which it seems like should have been notable to Brennan is that fetal bones because they are fetal are not yet heavily calcified They're still soft and malleable and so this would distinguish them from any bones of like an adult animal that would be big enough And the other thing is like the fetal bones. It's unlikely they would ever have found them because So so so tiny but also because they are not calcified some frog would have eaten it right sure yeah I mean maybe that's why they there are so few fetal bones like I don't think there is any I don't know that babies develop ears first In the wood they don't but they were there been yeah, but probably there have been other bones in there that disappeared And as you said with other bones for context it possibly would have been an easier call so I'll call this one yeah Imposable but not as impossible as it could be that's true. I think that's I think that's fair So anyway, that's probably exactly what Kathy writes anyway, that's our that's our bone of the week the ossicles Your middle your tiny three middle ear phones.

So Margaret this girl's pregnant then what I just wanted to put in the record In re babies growing bones really slowly Children don't have kneecaps until they're three So really really frightening fact in humans the patella of the kneecap is the largest Pizamode bone in the body babies are born with a patella of soft cartilage which begins ossified into bone at about three years of age I mean I get more freaked out about the fact that their skull is just not done when they come out The skull really does you like it should be cooked all the way through I agree with it It would make it harder to get it out of there sure would but still I gotta go palpate my two-year-old legs So anyways we find out that she was pregnant and with a frog yeah There's a wacky sideplots that a character like obviously didn't actually commit the murder. I guess is Not Shondra Levy's stalker. Yeah, despite the fact and like his presence and then fresh fixation on bones is played for Laughs in a way that no I don't trip with I don't think you would have written it that way No, I don't think I would have I don't think most people would have but I mean this is an American comedy series So it's gonna take risks everyone's in a while But he's just like all wacky hard with kinds of stalker. It's like stalker not a problem so he didn't kill her so obviously the senator who knocked her up killed her and Renan is like booth You're a coward you're not going after this guy just because he's a senator and you're in for all the power and he has a basement With blood stains and fertilizer on it where like this girl was kills gives you diet amacious earth I'm sure you'll know about if you've ever had problems with fleas or bed books Because it's a pet safe way to kill small bugs and it works because it's so small and fine to us and to animals But to bugs it is razor sharp and it basically lacerates you until you leak out all your moisture and dry to death Wow, it's a great fact.

Yeah, the first apartment I had was had a flea problem Sure, I did not know about until I had moved in so thanks that to me sure yeah This is also a this is where we meet our final character is Bones is also getting some pressure from the Jeffersonian about this the director Daniel Goodman is Warning her that she can't rock about too much because they're reliant on Congress for funding even though the house has the power The purse and it doesn't matter that it's a senator In danger there if the senator senator is found out in the house is like oh well That look I mean that's that's a set's not really our guys Yeah, like don't know if I can um but and we've been we've been actually pretty good about not discussing too many future I'm so it's bones, but if you're a fan of bones at all you'll know that dr. Good Goodman mysteriously disappears after season one and never never to be mentioned again never to be mentioned and I've just got a wonder like What does it feel like to be the Pete best of bones like to watch the show from afar run for a hundred fucking years and to know? Almost almost it was me 246 episodes to be precise well sure we are nothing if not precise on the bones the bones. That's right what run in The man's of us.

That's right. That is correct So there is some confusion because when they do when Booth finally Musters his courage and goes after the senator in spite of the political pressure upon him He does not he finds a hammer, but there ain't no diet to me There's no diet to make sure that the basement and I just gotta say when Booth walked out of that senator Just home and is like well we found the hammer that killed her, but it's not enough I was like really It seems like enough. It seems like that feels like what was interesting about watching bones is how Even though its first episode is about like a senator killing a girl It feels really aggressively apolitical yes in a way like if you're gonna do the show in 2019 The first question would be well if the senator is a Democrat then like Mitch McConnell is gonna be on the floor like calling for his head instantly Yeah, for sure so we can pick up another seat or something like it's The politics of it come up in an abstract way like related to the Jeffersonian's funding or Booth's like place in the in the FBI and the FBI like being answerable to Congress, but Well, it's a senator. Yeah, it's not it's not it's almost not important that it's a senator except to create pressure in those other ways Right the other thing about the politics of it is that it does share the politics of most law and legal procedurals Which is the sort of implicit understanding of law enforcement as protecting all people equally and the idea that they are this body that you know seeks justice and is unbiased and all these different kind of things although there are some occasions Look a lot of wild stuff happens over the course of 246 episodes So there are some occasions where Booth in particular is the one who ascribes to that I mean he as we learn in this episode.

He is a former sniper He talks about being a sniper only very very minimally including the line You know being a sniper I took a lot of lives which Dark thing you just put out there. Well also like yeah, like that was you're like you're not gonna you're not gonna When would you when would anyone say that except in a TV pilot? My question you know being a you know I can imagine saying if you were if you were like to your kids when they misbehaved You know being a sniper I took a lot of lives. So go to your room Go to your room But no he's he's talking to Brennan that anyhow So he's the one who particularly ascribes to this kind of disbelief about what law enforcement is and the nice thing about this procedural is that even though That is the implicit understanding generally because you do split the sort of personality across because you're a protagonist are antagonists for a lot of the show There is a lot of back and forth and so like there is a surprising one of dialogue about how you know policing cultures is Culturally contextual and like you know ideas of justice or different different kinds of trot you like that does get more questions than you might Well, it's a police procedural, but it also is like booth is the Most of the time he's the only actual law enforcement presence on the show and the rest of the time You're just hanging out with like these nerds and scientists and stuff So while you are while you're while it is a procedural show and while Catherine is right that law enforcement is mostly lionized Like you're not you're not buried in it in the way that you are in like a law and order where your entire perspective Like almost a hundred percent of time is grounded in in the police perspective, right?

Right. So you have a character like Hodgins who is constantly talking about how the government hides covers up the alien invasions despite drawing a government paycheck I don't know Hodgins. Well Hodgins has a interesting financial situation that we will talk about obviously later on later episode Yeah, yeah, anyhow, so that that is the pilot of bones We do eventually discover that the senator does have dietamations because he uses it for his aquarium No, no, no, no, the senator doesn't have any dietam. Sorry.

Yeah, the senator is ambitious aid Oh, that's right cuz Sam from True Blood Sam from True Blood is the guy who did it. Is that it's the age? Yeah, yes, and and obviously realizing that necessitates Brennan going rogue and like running to his house immediately to get killed as you do But she is a master of martial arts. I don't want to get too much again, which we don't really get to see but luckily Her new stalker is there to intervene on her behalf until Booth can swoop in and save the day.

Yes. Yeah Yep, then they all go to the young interns funeral in one of the most egregious green screen scenes I have seen in quite a long time and then they like walk out in the middle of it Also directly past the grave which is for some reason oriented to the side of where everyone is sitting run Them being oriented to the front. Uh-huh. It's it's wild that the entire senior staff of the Jeffersonian including its fucking director All shows up to this funeral, but they all do and then they leave in the middle It is a very strange.

It's not what I as a person Holding a funeral would want sure sure Okay, so Margaret I'm curious to know what you think like for this for for you a bones neophyte. Yeah, like not even fully Yeah, not even fully classified like what what in this pilot? Really got your bone go in and what just failed to leave a mark on you? Okay, I have one huge question which is why are they using the freezer font?

Yes, that's a very good question And the answer is that it's the classiest one next question Okay The one piece of concrete praise that I issued of the show is that I appreciate the level of realism in bones Is ponytail and I continue to appreciate that realism bones has shockingly normal hair Mm-hmm in this point in time where we were all desets as to women with incredible masses of extensions on their hair and everybody having like the same Beachy wave style just see somebody with like a shitty looking ponytail like I would travel on a plane in It's pretty great. Yeah. Yeah, you do get the the elaborate wave look from Angela. Yes, sure But yeah, but yeah, Emily Deschanel is just an opponent tail for almost this entire episode most of the show really yeah Yeah, anyone she isn't her hair just looks normal and like it's been flattering to me too many times.

Yeah, it's it's very refreshing Yeah, um, I like Emily Deschanel in general good character. I like her physicality. She's interesting. I like the idea I sort of like the wacky work family and nerds, but I didn't actually like any of the wacky work They're not locked in man.

They are not locked in yet. Yeah, so it's a future season in addition to Replacing dr. Goodman who is like nobody nothing which is too bad for him Like yeah, some of the characters personalities like Hodgens. I think it's a lot of his edges sanded off And I don't want to talk about anything else because I don't want to spoil anything But yeah, yeah, Catherine's right that that settles a lot.

I think it's Booth and Brennan are pretty it's kind of astounding how fully formed and consistent they are like right from the jump Yeah, you do get that The flanderization thing where a character's quirks become more pronounced over time like by literally for bunnion Particularly for bones who become who goes like full on she goes full Joey by the end of the series and just like does not understand Anyone's human emotions anymore, but yeah, they're pretty they're pretty locked at this point It's just everybody around them who still needs some time. Yeah, I think that's I think that's right But definitely it's like I put a toothpick into those characters and it's not dry. Oh, yeah, no They do not come ugly. They still need to be baked all the way through.

Yeah, they're another pretty half-baked if you get what I'm saying Sure, um, I do get what you're saying. I did watch this and I Wondered about how you came to watch so many seasons of it, Andrew. It was a real windowing with certain time in your life That's what I'll say I can't do we both want to share our bones. Yeah, let's see our bones origin story Mine was like Suzanne Susanna was watching it and this was like 2010 or so like I think the show is on season four or five Yeah, and she was watching it and I was like I had a lot less to do we were living Ohio We'd have a ton of friends in the area I hadn't started like three other side projects yet, and yeah, so I just started watching bones And I was like, you know what this show you can just kind of watch it.

Yep That's true And so I did and then we and then we stuck with it till like season I want to say like early in season nine we bailed finally so I don't think I don't think you finished the show either So when we finally get to the end for the podcast, it's gonna be it's gonna be a day for both of us Exciting day I started watching bones much earlier. I sat in my freshman dorm room and said to myself Oh, wow, I can watch TV all day long and none of my parents or teachers will stop me Yeah, and I opened up something so we all went to Kenya College and I opened up the internal Kenyan file sharing service of the time Kenster Kenster and I just opened up the TV section and Somebody had the whole first season of bones, and I was like, huh, and that's really it. That's all I've got to tell you It there worked as yeah, there weren't as many episodes of bones yet at that time So I actually watched it much more contemporaneously to when it came out But I got full so I got started on like a full juice to like solid two seasons sure I never have to ask why Catherine has watched the television Because Catherine like Lord George Mallory Watches television because it is there yeah, that's yeah I mean that's that was my experience of watching the office is I wasn't into it And then I grabbed all the episodes of the first two seasons off of Kenster and slam them in like two weeks at home Yep during a summer and then I was just in the debt show after that sure and then Kenster also showed me all of Star Trek keeps Space 9 all Star Trek Voyager It was just it was a resource yeah, yeah primary Kenster journey was that's where we watched all of the scrubs that we got and Yeah, that's who yeah, Susan I both watched all of our scrubs I mean I'd watch it before but she had never watched it so yeah my college and roommate my college roommate and I had a ritual on Fridays when The one cafe in town would make its shitty vegetarian only sushi looks like the only sushi you could get in real Ohio at that point in time We would get the sushi from the from middle ground and then we would go back to the dorm room And we would watch two episodes of scrubs together between our Friday morning classes and our Friday afternoon classes What's the once the big gym opened which was pretty late in y'all's tenure but like halfway through mine? Yeah, the sushi that they did down there is actually pretty good.

Yeah, that was our senior year Yes, this was early day dangerous. Yeah, no, I know I know Campus the sushi situation approved just when I'm saying much like the show bones What's like the phones will do as we can see this is a strong a strong pilot a good strong pilot not quite a femur but you know I'm gonna give it like an Olna or or maybe a Some kind of a spinal situation Mm-hmm. I'm really upset that there are 206 bones in the human body And I'm really upset that they didn't aim to have that many episodes That's really does seem like that should have been really sad We're gonna have to we're gonna have to reduce some of these episodes anyway We can we could cover different aspects of certain bones. Sure sure I make sometimes there are probably gonna be bones and there's other animal bones.

Oh sure like actual frog bones So, you know you've got that to look forward to yeah, well, I can't wait to hear more of the bone zone you guys totally Yeah, thank you so much for having me on your first episode. They actually tried to make off of bones Yes, yeah, or she was called the finder and it made me last it for one season Yeah, barely that I don't think or like even worse that that backdoor pilot where like Dwight Shrewt had a farm that never actually Made to see her so we want this pilot to go to series You just really need to let us know yep that you loved it as much as we love it with a lot of five star reviews and good tweets and yeah So thanks for joining us Margaret.
