I really do Yes, this is the daily life of Frank and this is mental health awareness month It is mental health awareness month and each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness during May And I am I joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health each year They fight stigma provide support educate the public and advocate for policies to support people with mental illness and their families Together for mental health for more information visit nami.org daily life of Frank my son had surgery on Monday of this week surgery, yep, if you saw my son today You would not even think he had surgery You would think you would think he didn't have surgery That boy is the bravest little boy that I know he is the bravest little boy my son handled surgery like a boss He did such a great job.
Such a great job. I know like a doctors and nurses were telling them man You're doing awesome. You did a great job And I know it's probably part of their their spiel to make the kids feel like hey, okay, it's a mass But I think they really meant it it really meant it with him because he was kicking ass a little bit of a troubling time He was starving, you know, I couldn't eat in the morning couldn't eat after midnight He was like a fucking gremlin and trust me. I love that boy, but I don't want him to multiply in anything So he was a little hungry in the morning had some gas in the morning was farting away in the lobby didn't care But I'm like, you know, why should he care?
He's about to get surgery. What the fuck you want to do? Want to fart in a lobby? You want to take a shit in the middle of the lobby there?
Don't for it go ahead. Take a shit. All right. It's fine But yeah, so he he handled it perfectly.
He was very very very brave dad me I'm not gonna lie to you. I had some tears when they pulled him away when they brought him for the surgery I had some tears. I had some tears. I did I put the mask over my eyes like this is a new way to wear your mask Yeah, and I think that what got me was he had a Moment of realization when the surgery was about to happen and he gets so scared He started to cry a little bit and that what took my heart and crushed it into a million pieces But afterwards he was brave.
He was so brave. He did everything He he he's like his dad meaning that I have high anxiety and high worry and high everything But I but I always like to run into the fire meaning when I know I have to get something done I like to run right into the fire and I know you know, that's how I am I know I have to get it done. I have to run into the fire I don't have time to you know, think about it I got to do it It's not gonna go away and that's how he was and then he came out of it and it was so cute because he looked at He's like when's the surgery begin and I'm like, it's over you did such a great job. You fell asleep.
You woke up It's done and also Larry's Children's Hospital. We actually went to the outpatient in West Chester great staff great team So accommodating we have a great doctor great doctor. Dr. Houston is amazing His anesthesiologist, I know I kind of stood it over that a doctor Eric was great.
It was just a great team nurses staff everybody just incredibly great and Yeah, no pain. He really suffered a minimal pain, which he didn't even you didn't comment about and I think he has such a high pain tolerance I was telling somebody that he could surgery no pain, but if he stubs his toe or gets a scratch on its foot It's like the end of the world He also came out of surgery and the first day he says like all right time to go home after he was talking about it's done And when he found out it was done, I'm going to start getting down the bed like all out of it He's had a fucking recover sit there for a second sit there for a second son. What are you doing? It's like a crazy.
Yeah, so he did a great job really proud of him. I love that boy so much He did he did awesome and today it is being Friday then recording this and tomorrow being deader day deader day Tomorrow that you know, he is he has done awesome not gonna work He's done great. It's gone back to school and Wednesday was ready to go back to school Wednesday Just start a reader that day. He had to go back to school.
He said The only thing that's killing him right now is he can't play he can't jump he can't run for about five more days So he can't do any of that which you know obviously if you knew my son He is he loves to run around he is a bouncy boy. So can't do any of that that's kind of hurting but I'm Yeah, he'll uh, he'll just you know take it one day at a time and and he'll he'll be able to play next week And this weekend's weather is not great. So we're gonna be stuck indoors anyway, you know, so yeah awesome job I said I don't even think he would even realize he had surgery on Monday if they met him today, you know It's funny appearance promise appearance promise and this is what mean by that our parents promise is we have to make sure all parents Are probably on the same boat. Well, hopefully they are I hope you're on the same boat for this one We the goal in life is to make sure our kids are alive by time the evening comes Because kids do some stupid stuff kids are running jumping eating quick and as a parent you are trying to make sure that your child is alive By the nighttime, so it's it's uh, it's it's definitely definitely a tiring task every day No, and not only that but it's protection right you protect your kids and you want to be there for them And you understand that as a parent there's gonna be times where you can't be there meaning They're gonna have to go through some of these learning experiences on their own and and that's how it is But for the most part you want to make sure that they're safe, you know Make sure they have some good food in their belly make sure that you know Everything is taken care of you're there to clean up the boo-boos and wipe away the tears and when you have kids You have to be invested into the situation you have to be invested.
It's gonna be one of these situations where you're like You have to be invested because you know, you know, you're gonna You know, you're keeping them alive. You're making sure they're fed you're taking care of them And I would not change it in a heartbeat and I know on this podcast a lot I like to joke around and make some make some funny things but All seriousness, obviously for the most part. I'm like, that's how I want to say All seriousness, I love those two and I would never change it to see how they are excited for Events vacations, you know, Christmas morning and when Santa Claus drops off all those gifts It is a great feeling in the world and for them to come up to you random and give you a hug and kiss you and say I love you dad and sometimes they're gonna love you daddy Which is awesome and you know to have that is just it's just amazing because as parents we make a lot of sacrifices, right? We make a lot of sacrifices sometimes we can't go out and buy that thing that we want or sometimes we can't do this or that You know, we can't go out on a Saturday night because you know a kiddo sick or something like that And we make a lot of sacrifices as parents But I know from my perspective I would do it 10 million times over and I really mean this and I know this sounds cliche But I would jump in front of a bus for my kids.
I would I really would But you know, we still have our our pet peeves parents right my pet peeves repetitive cleaning I hate that I have to clean up every 10 seconds of a day. I clean something up. I gotta clean it up again clean it up again clean it up again And I know we're trying to get our kids they're eight man Understand it and they're you know six can be six in June so they're understanding the clean everything But I said repetitive clean up and then they make a same ass and they go Oh, I already did it one time. I'm gonna do it again I imagine that's what goes down the brains and they were pet of clean and everything so that's what I gotta do repetitive clean Not bad.
They're not repetitive cleaning if they were a pet of a cleaning and this wouldn't be a pet peeve mind It's in whole thought of like and I know right mom and dad out there You're cleaning up right you're cleaning up after your kids You just clean up all their toys and or they helped you clean up or what not and you put it away And then you turn around an hour and a half later they're playing with the same toys and now you have to clean up again Or they're like, oh, I don't want to clean up again. I just clean up the first time. Oh Okay, I saw something and I'm gonna share it if we feel you in a second Kind of a radio tease there. They got me angry and I'll tell you about that But first speaking of parents we've all done this and I experienced this I came home I was at the garage door my wife was gonna open the garage doors I can come in and in the background I hear this mom and her daughter walking and I hear the mom You know discipline the daughter with you here as a parent and she's like stay off the grass stay off the grass Stay on the grass and you kept saying it and then we caught our eyes me and a mom our eyes caught and that's your change or Top just like okay, sweetie.
Make sure you don't go on the grass. We've all done that as parents You have to a bit. It's funny. You know, you're out of public your kids.
You're like do not do that. Do that. Do that. Do that.
Do that. Do that. All right, baby It's okay. Just don't do that.
Okay. All right. Don't run around the restaurant with the knife Just not do that. Okay, but when they're not like put that fucking knife down now now now Let me take a baby mad but pissed me off.
What almost ruined my weekend last weekend Made me so aggravated Was watching Instagram real and there was a couple on the Instagram real and they were saying say in this they were they're Quote quote health experts or love experts and they said here are five top tips for you mom and dad to have sex On your family vacation number five put the kids for the TV and I was like what and I don't have a like like a record Scratchy, I don't know That's the best on effect. I have but I was like what the fuck is wrong with people like literally what the fuck here's tip number six Don't have sex a family vacation if you can't go a couple days without having sex on family vacation now you are a fucking wacko Like really like really who thinks that well, how are you gonna get these kids? It's right? So we can have sex at our family vacation.
Oh my god I was living and I was even more living because I thought like people were gonna be on the same boat with me on this And like I was reading the comments were like, this is a good tips, man These are great. These are great. It's like really like really like really like you like you have to have sex on family vacation You have to like you like okay, like we got a plan and we're gonna go see Mickey Mouse We're gonna have a breakfast with you and then we're gonna fuck that's how we're gonna do it I like really like who plans that like you don't Am I wrong? I mean do whatever you fucking want.
I don't care, but I say that in my mind during a family vacation I'm thinking about how can I have fun with my family now some people are obviously thinking how can they have fun with each other? I don't know to me comes off a little selfish too. I don't know But it was like these tips and people were like thanks for the tips So I put my kids in front of the TV and then like here's a tip ready you guys put your kids in front of the TV And then tell them you're gonna go shave my mom showers and then you have sex in the shower It's like what fucking planet are we on like what I got to breathe I got to breathe yeah, I saw that I was so aggravated That's my my tangent. It's right.
This went off. Holy moly. Let's talk about something fun something great Got a new grill got a new grill. It's awesome new grill.
I'm excited. Can we have a little clap in there? So I talked my wife into getting a flat top grill But we were both under the the same thought process We just didn't want a full flat top grill and no offense black stones a little bit out of the price range But we wanted a combination that was half grill half Flat top and we got that from Royal Gourmet Royal Gourmet we bought this on Amazon and now we got this awesome grill that is Flat top and gas It's a duo Surprisingly, I didn't have to give it to my wife. I thought I was gonna have to convince her I was like all right.
She's not gonna give me a grill with a flat top. I know she isn't I know she isn't I know I know I asked for a lot I buy a lot of things, but no she surprisingly said yes She was actually who brought up the idea it was great now a little bit of an idea because the flat top She's like oh my gosh. Can you imagine how many grilled vegetables we can have and I'm like mm-hmm And I'm thinking best thing is gonna be used for pancakes and bacon pancakes and bacon on that side But yeah, we can do vegetables that can be do too But don't get that vegetable juice shit all over that flat top and it ruins the flavor and now my pancakes tastes like carrots I want that I don't want that unless it's carrot cake pancakes Oh my tell ya yes, I got a grill. It's awesome.
We're actually tonight is our inaugural grill We're gonna do it tonight. We have burgers great meat For marianos marianos has one of the best like if you want like an Italian sausage that has like all this great stuff Stopped in like one's jardin air another one's like mozzarella Absolutely delicious You can go to marianos. They have these burgers. There's cheddar burgers and black pepper burgers, and they are So good.
So that's our inaugural grill. And of course on your rings on the side. See that's a vegetable has breading that but it's still a vegetable Still a vegetable my daughter made me laugh out loud the other day So my daughter was talking about her friends that she has and her friends each of her friends He has a little brother or an older brother or what not So they have a brother but she out of nowhere Maybe like spit my coffee out because my daughter sometimes says stuff and then like it's so funny Like you'll literally like you'll have like this you're not expecting it. You'll have like this reaction Oh my god And you spit out your coffee or whatever you're drinking and she was talking about that her and her friends have a pact A pact and I'm like, huh?
She's like we have a pact me and my girlfriend's have a pact We are not going to date Their brothers. So like they won't take my brother. I want to know their brothers. I'm like, okay, okay get that girlfriend's packed early on You know friends packed early on I like it.
Oh Man the girl code the girl code is funny so funny that she said and like I just didn't expect it But I have like I said before I have a an amazing smart Funny little girl who resembles me in every way if I was a smart funny little girl I know and all seriousness she resembles me in every every single way and it was just that was just um Amazing and funny and not just that but anything she says is like huh? You are so smart for your age so smart All right, I'm not gonna go on a tangent like I just did on the having sex application But if you want some advice about vacation and sex or whatnot don't ask J Cutler and if you don't know what that means Google J Cutler and vacation and we have time we have time for the J Cutler vacation story Do we have time for this? It's kind of it's kind of like you know the next topic of sports. All right, let's let's just do it All right, I'm gonna read this to you.
So J Cutler Yes J color football player or player of the Bears he went on vacation with his kids and his friend and his wife his friend and his wife and their kids and Their neighbors, okay, their kids are all friends. So while they were on this trip J was hooking up with his friend's wife They've been hooking up for a very long time Very long time the friend reached out to Christian Cavalari who is his ex-wife and let her know that this is how you know She found out and that's how Kristen found out and the second insider alleged that she just wants to distance herself from all of this Which is you know rightfully so right, but it's just so crazy There you go. There's a fucking in the family vacation shit again. It is not going to become a trend.
I Will not let it become a trend So watching the white Sox the white Sox. They've been yeah white Sox Twitter. You have every right For your bitching and money every right and I'm with you on it a thousand percent They've been a little blah lately the white Sox have been a little blah. It's been you know not as fun to watch some games They're in some games.
They're close some games It's no most games are close the bullpen gets up 12 runs and then you know, it's like or what not and yeah, they're blah So Aussie Gian Frank Thomas and Chuck Garfine a Chuck was earlier in the month had some things to say about the team and now Aussie and Aussie and a Frank are saying some things too if you want to like really like the way Aussie and Frank put it the other day It's like exactly how I feel so but yeah, the white Sox are blind. I gotta say this and and I Love Steve Stone. I really do. I think he's a great announcer But I know lately Steve Stone is going against white Sox fans, you know and saying that we have we don't have a right to feel The you know motion or talk the way we do or or to he said something I can't remember what it was but it was like when we like we you know lost and we keep up seven runs in the ninth or something He's never all over exaggerating.
They were not positive and let me tell you something so we made a good point They said I work hard. I work hard. I work really hard at my job And I take my money and it's not a lot and I put it towards this team So when this team's not playing good and I'm investing into this team and they're not investing You know on running down the first base really hard or dropping a fly ball and right field or giving up seven runs in the ninth inning I'm gonna be able to get a little upset about it and that is true. You can you can all right?
