Fisher visits with his first cousin, Joann (Fisher) Schmidt, of Dutchess County, New York. Joann's grandfather’s family had been decimated in a disaster on a steamboat in 1904 in which ten family members were killed. It is called the General Slocum disaster, and it took place in New York City. The tragedy marked the greatest single loss of life in New York City history prior to 9/11.
