Although there isn't much mystery about Wilson in the movie, McShane plays the mysterious figure. He is employed by a covert "security" company as an assassin with a base in London. He travels to the Spanish island of Fuerteventura, which lies off the coast of Africa, as part of his mission. His goal is to take out a well-known narcotics dealer. Wilson lands on the island, rents a car, drives into the desert, collects important information, a picture of his target, a map to the dealer's remote home, and arms himself with a pistol for the mission.
