Steffan Chirazi is the editor and creative director for So What! Magazine, an in-house publication for Metallica. He is also a journalist and photographer who began covering Metallica for Sounds magazine in 1984. He has been an important figure behind the scenes in the Metallica world ever since.In this episode we talk through his beginning years as a young journalist covering Motorhead, becoming friends with Cliff Burton and Faith No More, the early Bay Area thrash days, the Load/Reload era, forcing the band to open up in revealing round table discussions, Jason Newsted's departure, the dedication of Lars Ulrich to Metallica fans, a defense of St. Anger, Guns N' Roses, Hardwired, Lemmy and more.
