Episode 2096 - Getting Back Into Routine After a Break
from Runpreneur Hosted by Kevin Brittain
Getting back into routine after a break is harder than I planned for. I have been home from a family skiing trip to Andorra for nearly a week, and I am still not back in the routine I live by. I caught a head cold on the way home, went straight back to work on the Friday, and was away again on the Monday and Tuesday. My food was poor, my sleep was short and my mood dropped. In this episode I talk honestly about what happened. I explain why routine and structure matter so much to me as someone with ADHD, and why I treat the daily run as the one fixed habit while everything around it recovers. I also share the lesson I am taking from the week. Do not beat yourself up, expect a lag after travel, and plan one or two transition days before you return to full normality. My mistake was booking no buffer. Next time I will plan the buffer first.Today is day 2096 of the streak. Cumulative distance stands at 16,140.92km of the 40,075km lap of the world, with 23,934.08km remaining. Every episode is part of my fundraiser to raise £1M for children's causes. The more people who see the vlog, the more people I reach. If you struggle to restart after a break, tell me what helps you.
