Overall, Japan is considered to be a safe country. It consistently ranks highly in global safety rankings, and the crime rate is generally low compared to many other countries. However, like any country, there are still some risks to be aware of, such as natural disasters (earthquakes, typhoons, etc.), pickpocketing, and some instances of violent crime.
