Episode 21: The Gift Of Tears

from Shine: Inspired Jewish Women Podcast · host Eve Levy

We recently experienced the nine days of mourning, which culminated with Tisha B’av. My Rabbi Rav Yitzchak Berkowitz once taught me that you gain a certain closeness through mourning. This period of emotional toil and yearning for closeness and stronger connection with our creator gives us the energy to go into a good and productive time ahead (please G-d!) with Elul and the high holidays around the corner. Join me in conversation with my dear friend Elissa Felder who talks about the gift of tears. We learn from Elissa’s shinning example how she is able to sit with her pain and therefore make space for others to sit with theirs. She has searched and found meaning for herself within her own grief and through this, she has found ways to help others. Such a gift. May all our collective tears of pain be turned into tears of joy and May we see better times ahead for all.
