Episode 211: Ephesians Series- The Armour Of God (The Sword of the Spirit)

(Ephesians 6:10-17 Today’s focus is the last piece of the armour God made available for us. It is called the sword of the Spirit- the Word of God. Sword is an emblem of authority and power. It is also an emblem of triumph and protection. As Ephesians 6:10 says “...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil...” Our strength, inner strength, supernatural strength comes from putting on the whole armour God provided for us to be able to stand unshakable against the schemes, strategies and deceit of Satan. As Christians, our battle is not “against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” As Joshua was admonished in Joshua 1:8- The Word of God must always be in our mouth, also meditating on it. The Word of God should be the foundation of every decision we make so that we can prosper -spirit, soul and body. In rounding up the armour of God God wants us to be strong as He is. Halleluyah! He has provided the armour we need- His Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation , His indispensable weapon- Word, for us to have throughout our lives. We should put them on. We should put the armour on and never take them off! Hence, the reality of victory Christ wrought for us is for sure in every area of our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen
