This week on the live to walk again podcast we had the pleasure of speaking with Lauren Harmison who is a Nurse Practitioner, SCI advocate, Mother, Wife, and the Founder and CEO of Possability Unlimited; a nonprofit providing respite support, biannual retreats, and education for individuals with spinal cord injuries and their caregivers. We chatted with Lauren about how she chose to focus on the spinal cord injury aspect of nursing, where the idea for Possability Unlimited came from, and the amazing retreats that they put on for people dealing with SCI. We also spoke about her spinoff company Paralysis Support which provides tutorial videos for caregiver training with actual people dealing with paralysis in the videos instead of mannequins or dummies, the Journal article she wrote about Autonomic Dysreflexia, and its impact on people living with high level spinal cord injuries.
