Episode 212: Proof the SBC STILL Doesn't Get It!

The SBC is being investigated by the Department of Justice. This would be enough to make anyone shake in their boots. But not the SBC. Instead they chose to minimize DECADES of harassing victims, putting known pedophiles back in the pulpit, and threatening victims with their top attorneys. Since the DOJ announced that they are investigating the SBC, the top leaders apologized for "mistakes" they made in the past and assured people that their leaders are proving to be fully committed to not repeating more "mistakes." Interestingly, J.D. Greear's Summit Church STILL has a policy that keeps registered sex offenders' status hidden from the church. In fact, they offer them "shepherding groups" to minister to them while the policy mentions nothing about abuse survivors receiving shepherding. We will see what the DOJ investigation brings, but for now we are not holding our breath hoping for any meaningful change from leaders.
