Episode 22

from The New Carp · host NotASouldier

Here's this week's playlist: "You're So Square (Baby, I Don't Care)" - Cee Lo Green: Cee Lo isn't the first person you think of when you think of rock n' roll, but here he gives us a faithful interpretation of a Buddy Holly classic. "Bad Romance" - Halestorm: This Grammy-winning metal band covers Lady Gaga. "Lonely Boy" - The Black Keys: A popular single from their most recent album, El Camino. "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" - Coldplay: The first single from Mylo Xyloto. "Dog Days Are Over" - Vicci Martinez: Cee Lo's The Voice season one finalist.  I actually prefer her vocals on this song over Florence + The Machine (blasphemy!) "(You Will) Set the World On Fire" - David Bowie: Destined to be a future single from Bowie's new album. "Smokin'" - Anthrax: An excellent Boston cover. "Energy"  - SuperHeavy: A very upbeat track from a supergroup consisting of Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, and A.R. Rachman. "Everybody Wants You" - Puddle of Mudd: A grungey hard rock take on Billy Squier.
