Episode 22: "Here Comes The Weekend" Medway Legends & Hipsville Special

from Retrosonic Podcast · host Retrosonic Podcast

Steve from Retro Man Blog looks at two great upcoming Weekenders - "Medway Legends" in San Sebastian in Spain and "Hipsville Carnival-A-Go-Go" which is a bit closer to home in Hampshire. This hour long special is crammed full of raw R'n'B, Garage Rock and Beat from some of those acts appearing at the two events. Firstly from the small cluster of Medway towns that spawned The Prisoners, The Milkshakes, The Pop Rivets and The Dentists we'll hear what some of these Medway Legends are up to now with tracks from The Masonics, Graham Day & The Forefathers, Bob Collins, The Galileo 7, The Sine Waves, Thee Jezebels Ye Ascoyne d'Ascoynes and Lord Rochester. Hipsville spreads the net further afield and as usual will bring us some of the best current International Garage Rock bands such as The Wildebeests, The Baron Four, The Missing Souls, The Jackets, MFC Chicken, Archie & The Bunkers, Sex Crime and The Stompin' Riff-Raffs.
