Prayers up to my dawg, Anthony Poole. On April 3rd Anthony and his mother lost his little sister, Joanne 'Jojo' Poole. Joanne Poole was born on July 2nd, 1993. She graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas and went on to The University of North Texas in hopes to work in counseling. During high school, she fostered her love for sports. She played basketball, flag football, and also ran track. Joanne coached gymnastics as was known as Coach Jo. Coach Jo had an infectious smile and laugh that lit up every room she entered. Her gift was shared across the world where she worked with children in Thailand, teaching English and provided care and rehabilitation for elephants and monkeys. Coach Jo's passion for the sport of gymnastics and children led her into a coaching career at ASI Gymnastics. She was loved by all coworkers, parents, and especially kids. She had an incredible gift for communicating and motivating her students. Children of all ages reacted immediately to Jo's warmth, energy, humor, and kindness. You could catch her dancing at all times. Her love for kids will stay in the hearts of the gymnasts that she coached during her four-year career at ASI Gymnastics. The culture of love, fun, grit, and carefree happiness she created at Plano West is a legacy that will live on.
