Episode 22 - Transcendence

This is Johnny Depp, doing his best impression of the two of us watching this film. Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is attempting to create a world where computers can become sentient beings.  However, he is met with strong resistance from anti-technology terrorist groups.  He is shot and severely wounded by one such terrorist and the only recourse he and his fellow scientist wife (Rebecca Hall) see for him is to upload his consciousness to the Interwebz.  Once Will gets a taste of his new omniscience, his thirst for power threatens to achieve dangerous levels.   Sound interesting? Oy vey.   "Transcendence" could be the most hated film ever reviewed on "In the Queue."  It's technological inaccuracies were enough to send Andrew into a conniption fit.  Andrew may never be the same, and for that I blame the screenwriter of this film.  Perhaps more than any film in the history of ever anything, "Transcendence" is founded upon a misuse of scientific and technological terminology, which creates a sci-fi film so far-fetched and ignorant of its own subject matter, with 18 wheeler -sized plot holes that even the least thoughtful person is left wondering "Da fuh?"
