According to Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Teofimo Lopez will step back into the ring next year against former champion Subriel Matias for the WBO Super Lightweight Title. Teofimo will make his third title defense with his last fight ending in a win over against Steve Claggett. For Matias, despite his last fight ending in a 2nd Round TKO against Roberto Ramirez, everyone is still concerned over his upset loss to Liam Paro in Puerto Rico earlier this year. After Matias was released after one fight from Matchroom, this is Matias perfect chance to prove his worth against a fighter as accomplished as Teofimo. For Lopez, after two boring performances in a row, he looks to bounce back and put on a show for the fans. While a location has not been set yet the fight will take place March 15th.
