During the Revolutionary War, General George Washington repeatedly called soldiers to seek God’s help. History records seasons of prayer among the Continental Army. America’s victories were not won merely by military strategy. It was God’s help that guided and preserved the young nation during impossible moments. 2 Chronicles says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face…then will I hear from heaven.”Political arguments alone cannot heal what is broken in the human heart. Only God can heal the human heart, and that has always begun when God’s people humbled themselves and prayed.
