Episode 23 Dangers of the Internet and Social Media

from Try Not To Overthink It · host Try Not to Overthink It

Hey guys it's RJ, Chasmine, and Kalhil!  In today’s episode we're going to be discussing the Dangers of the Internet and Social Media. We find ourselves in a  society where we're constantly inundated with messages via our smart devices. The internet and by extension social media, have become pathways where we can be whoever we imagine ourselves to be. These platforms have turned into places where you can find yourself  constantly wearing a mask. This doesn’t mean you’re not yourself, but rather the most ideal version of yourself. Where you may attempt to come across that you’re endlessly happy or attempt to hide the parts of yourself that don’t make you feel that way.  By living a life broadcasted over the internet, it gives people  unfettered and unrestricted access to both you and your loved ones. This can have negative consequences, as not all attention is good attention. Our hope is that our listeners will get something from this deep, honest, and real conversation from the viewpoint of both a Licensed Professional Counselors and a Licensed Social Worker. Stay tuned as we drop new content weekly. If you want to watch this episode we can be found at Try Not To Overthink it on Youtube.
