What this episode covers
How many books have you read? Go ahead and take a guess. How many ‘How To’ videos have you watched? How many seminars have you been to? How many blogs have you subscribed to? How many podcasts have you listened to? Information that can be consumed for the sake of increased knowledge has never been more available. And yet you still have problems don’t you? Why is that? There is an answer to almost any question available online to anyone who can find a means to connect to the Internet. Solutions for relationships, job skills, remodeling, finances, healthy eating, exercise, psychology, resume building, education, marketing, branding, etc., are at your fingertips. And yet in this moment you have a problem that you haven’t been able to solve. Like the woman in the desert who is dying of thirst looking down a water well without a rope and a bucket. I would wager that you have the knowledge to solve your problem already. You aren’t stuck because of lack of information. You’re stuck because of the way you think and feel. You know what will most likely work for your dilemma, but because of a limiting belief, you think that solution won’t work for you. Maybe because you’re convinced that you don’t have what it takes to apply the solution. Not because you don’t actually have what it takes, but because you’re afraid to find out. What if you fall short? What if you fail? That would only confirm that you aren’t enough in a tangible and painful way. But what if I told you that the solution wasn’t as important as believing that you have what it takes? Solutions are everywhere. Googling ‘How do I overcome fear’ produces more than 136 million results. That’s a lot of solutions. And yet most of us are stopped short by fear on a daily basis. You don’t need more solutions. You need to believe that in spite of the problem you’re having, you’re enough. Right now. In the midst of your feelings of fear, shame, guilt, inadequacies, ____________... you are enough. So how do you start to believe that you are enough, that you have what it takes? Ask yourself this question. ‘What if I am enough?’. Your mind will probably shoot the following thought, or a similar one, back at you. ‘You aren’t enough or you wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.’ Say to yourself, ‘BUT WHAT IF I AM ENOUGH? What if I do have what it takes? What if the solution lies within me already. What if I can do this?’ Asking this question repeatedly will cause a crack in that wall, built of feelings of inadequacy, and the light of truth will shine through. That truth is that you are not alone. Your Creator is with you and will never leave you alone, in spite of how you feel. Once the possibility of that truth begins to shine in your life it will alter your thoughts and feelings. Hope can be a powerful thing. It can give you just enough leverage to take the necessary action. What if you are enough? It's worth asking.
