Episode 23: Right Wing Vigilantes Attack New Yorker on Live Television

TOPICS: Genocide Joe Biden Visits NYC, Guardian Angels Assault New Yorker On Live Television, NYCHA Bribery Charges, Killer Mike Arrested at the Grammy’s, Momentum & Power in the Revolutionary Movement. We’re in the studio this week choppin it up! As Joe Biden visited New York City last week and was greeted with protests against his greenlighting of the genocide in Gaza, we discuss the NYPD’s protest policing tactics and how the election year factors into their change in strategy. We then transition to discussing the ramping up of right-wing vigilantism in the city, namely Curtis Silwa and his Guardian Angel thugs beating up a New Yorker during a live segment on Sean Hannity’s show for the crime of speaking Spanish. We touch on the news of 70 current and former NYCHA employees being charged with bribery as the Eric Adams administration continues to be plagued with scandal. We discuss Killer Mike’s arrest at the Grammy’s after winning 3 awards (including Best Rap Album) – the constant irony of Black art being overshadowed, and how revolutionary messages in art get co-opted. Finally, we discuss the importance of maintaining focus in the revolution, being purposeful with your demands, and avoiding burnout. Check out our website: www.unapologetictawk.com Follow the podcast on socials:Instagram: @unapologetictawk Tik Tok: @unapologetictawkFollow Relly: @rellyrebel Follow Dimez: @dimez_cartierFollow Rudy: @shacqealRudy is the creator of Blacksky, an algorithm to connect Black users on Bluesky and the basis for other community algorithms on BlueskyFollow Rudy on BlueskyRudy also created Papertree.earth, a joint bank account for community groups to collectively manage finances. We The People NYC is a community-led mutual aid group that runs a hot food & clothes distro every Thursday @ 1PM on the corner of Fulton & Nostrand in Bed-Stuy , every Saturday @ 1PM on 125th Street & Lexington Ave in Harlem, and Monday @ 4pm at Tompkins Square Park.Check out more info at wethepeople.nyc or @wethepeople_nyc on InstagramJoin the Stonewall Was A Riot!
