Episode 23: The Trauma Informed Church: Guest Suzanne Burns
from The Wounds Of The Faithful · host DSW Ministries
How do you help a girl with a crisis pregnancy? Should you give money to the homeless man on the corner? We will find answers to these questions and more with our guest Suzanne Burns of Foundation House Ministries. Suzanne talks candidly about the inspiration behind starting Foundation House and her own crisis pregnancy. She shares the joys and challenges of running a maternity home: loving those with drug addiction, poverty, and sexual trauma; training the ladies to run a business, and eventually seeing girls come to know the Lord Jesus. We identify what exactly is a poverty mindset and how to get rid of that mentality. We finish the episode with a challenge to The Church and to Christians to become more trauma informed and reach this community with love, compassion and understanding, instead of condemnation. Suzanne's new book The Trauma Informed Church is tentatively scheduled for release April 2021.
