Episode 231: Debt Neglector

On the latest episode of You Make The Scene, we dive deep with the members of Debt Neglector as they gear up for the release of their fifth full-length LP, "Kinda Rips," set to drop on April 4, 2025, via Smartpunk Records. The band unpacks the making of this album, revealing how the pandemic reshaped their plans and influenced their creative process. Debt Neglector continues to champion the core values of punk—honesty, justice, and solidarity for the underdog. Their latest work not only captures their signature pissed-off punk vibe but also tackles a mix of viciously political themes and intensely personal issues, such as the pressures of fatherhood, insecurity, and confronting mortality. The band also introduced fans to the upcoming album with two new singles, “Adios Amigos! Or How To Self-Sabotage Without Even Trying" and "Tight Lips," which are available now for listeners. Drawing inspiration from punk legends like Descendents, Dillinger Four, and Bad Religion, Debt Neglector's music continues to resonate with both long-time punk fans and new listeners.
