"I spent a lot of years behind bars, and I had many guys tell me that my life was like a movie," David says. "Many of these guys had actually been there with me through these events that I had experienced, and they told me for years, 'you have to write this down, people need to see this.' For the last 2 years of my incarceration, I wrote. And I kept many of my journals throughout my incarceration, so I had books to go off, I had journals to go off of and use those as a platform to write my book."
