Episode 238 - The Influence of Christian Education

Welcome to Daily Growth Point, I’m Pastor John Bingham.Many early schools in America were started so children could learn to read the Bible. Thomas Jefferson was the primary founder who aggressively championed literacy and education saying, “An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.”Education was viewed not merely as intellectual training, but as moral formation. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go.”Yet, also bear in mind that knowledge without wisdom becomes dangerous. A nation may become technologically advanced and still spiritually lost.That is why parents and churches must remain committed to teaching Biblical truth to the next generation. So, as we teach those behind us, it must not only be knowledge, but Biblical wisdom. Because America’s future depends greatly upon what we teach our children today.
