Episode 24 - 70's American Horror: 1971
from Funny Like A Clown
Welcome back to another Beyond Horror Podcast! This episode I return to the 70's American Horror theme and discuss films released in 1971. In the intro I update you on what I've been up to (including some new film making news!) and some plans for future episodes. I also do the Top 5 Segment, which includes my excitement for the new Mad Max film. Before talking about specific American Horror films released in 1971 I spend a little time going over again some of the overarching themes and narratives discussed in previous episodes. The actual main theme is broken up into three separate segments; Drive In Schlock, Gothic Horror & Suspense and Satanic/Occult/Witchcraft. In each segment I spend varying amounts of time of the different titles and explore the connections that they have with each other. As for other segments I got some new Faith No More for you as the music choice, a new segment titled "Random Watches" which allows me to spend a little time talking about stuff I've watched that doesn't tie-in with my typical show focus. And as always I'll try and keep you up to date with any interested news items that I've come across. Be ready because Episode 25 is coming and I've got something special planned...
