Episode 24- Dr. Tom Walters

from PTCOFFEECAST · host The Movement

On this episode we share a cup with Dr. Tom Walters. Tom is a physical therapist out of Santa Barbara, California. Along with treating, he is a professor at Westmont College where he teaches biomechanics and pain science. If you didn't think that was enough, he is currently completing a Doctor of Science (ScD) in rehabilitation science at Texas Tech University and is studying the effects of clinician language on self-efficacy and physical performance in subjects with low back pain. He has a wide variety of experience which made for an awesome conversation! In this episode we talk about why he started his instagram account, how his approach as a clinician has changed over the years, bridging the gap between research and practice, and much more! We have been following Tom for sometime now and were excited to sit down and have a more in depth conversation about his journey as a PT. You can find this episode on iTunes, Play Music, and Spotify!
