Episode 24: Help! God is Silent!

(1 Samuel 28:6-9) Saul, the chosen king of Isreal, started well. Humbled for being chosen to lead God’s people but for disobedience and wanting to be accepted by men, he was rejected! The same sin, he condemned, he now condoned. When he was right with God, he swept the country clean of mediums and magicians. Saul, now desperate to hear from God because the Bible states that God was not speaking to Him again “...neither by dream nor by sign nor by prophet.” 1 Samuel‬ ‭28:6‬ MSG, he sought for answers via a spiritual medium that which he knew was an abomination to God. The Spiritualist he consulted said in 1 Sam 28:9 “The woman said, “Just hold on now! You know what Saul did, how he swept the country clean of mediums. Why are you trying to trap me and get me killed?”” Not knowing it was Saul himself that disguised so that he wouldn’t be known. Let us be intentional about staying in God’s presence. Let us make it an habit to be conscious of God’s presence- His will, His desires, what makes Him happy and otherwise. Because more we make His presence and His Word the highest priority of our lives, the more we we will be pleasing unto Him and also understand His mind for us and others around and about us. Let us pray Take me deeper in my love for you Help me Lord to live in total obedience to Your Way and will do that through me and my generations to come, your name will be glorified. In Jesus’ name.
