Episode 24 | Raul Campillo, San Diego City Councilmember, District 7

In this fun, thoughtful, and great episode, Nancy and Jose are joined in studio by one of San Diego's leaders, Raul Campillo, the Councilmember for District 7, a diverse district spanning from the 5 to the 125! Born and raised in Calexico, Raul learned at a young age the importance of morality, family, the immigrant experience, and small business. He went on to apply all of these principles as he grew from a 5th grade teacher in Las Vegas, became a lawyer at a top firm and ultimately to arriving at his passion for public service. We hear from Raul the importance of reading and his strategy for helping his 5th grade students progress in their reading levels: build trust and push them! Building trust has served Raul well as he leads and governs today always mindful of his true north: remember who you serve.
