Episode 240 Time is Not the Enemy
from Living with your Thoughts · host Tracy Moxey
The podcast argues that the real challenge isn't having too little time—it's having an unhealthy relationship with time. Everyone has the same 24 hours, but the difference lies in how intentionally we use them.Time isn't the problem—our attention is. Many people spend their days reacting to messages, other people's demands, and constant distractions instead of living with purpose. Being busy is not the same as living intentionally.Presence gives time its value. Time isn't just measured by hours but by how fully we experience each moment. A life filled with mindful conversations, meaningful relationships, and genuine presence is richer than one filled with constant activity.Life has seasons. Just as nature has times for planting, growing, resting, and harvesting, people also go through different seasons. Not every season is meant for peak productivity, and comparing your current season to someone else's is unhelpful.Time is an investment. Each day brings 1,440 minutes that cannot be saved or recovered. Presence matters most in relationships. Especially for parents, loved ones need genuine attention more than physical proximity. Being mentally and emotionally present is one of the best uses of time. You cannot control how quickly time passes, but you can control how deeply you live each day. Rather than counting your days, focus on making your days meaningful by being present, living according to your values, and investing your attention in what truly matters.
