Suse Lowenstein was born in Germany, but made her way to New York after also living for a year in Colombia. Her work has spanned multiple mediums including painting, textiles, and sculpture. On December 21, 1988 while coming home for the holidays her oldest son Alexander was murdered along with 258 others aboard Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
