Episode 241 - The Gospel and Human Dignity

One reason Christianity has profoundly shaped societies is because the Bible teaches the value of every human soul. Genesis teaches that mankind is created in the image of God. That truth has influenced the creation of hospitals, orphanages, missions work, charity, and countless efforts to help suffering people.Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”This simple truth helped fuel the flames of American independence, and is embedded in the bedrock of the Declaration of Independence when it says that God gives “certain unalienable rights” and among those are life!Every person matters to God. That includes the wealthy and the poor, the successful and the struggling, the young in the womb and the elderly.When we realize the love that God has for life, our compassion for others will grow.
