Episode 242 - Jackstream
from Flickers from the Cave Hosted by Mike, Marty and Julie
Episode 242 is here with some fantastically fun scifi movies! We start off with "Slipstream" from 1989. Starring Mark Hamill and Bill Paxton with a truly impressive upporting cast. It's an interesting post-apocalyptic story that largely focuses on AI and the ultimate question of just what makes something "alive". It has issues here and there but it's really throught-provoking and moves along at a quick pace. We follow that with 1992's "Freejack" which stars Emilio Estevez and Mick Jagger. This one also has an amazing amount of A-Listers filling in the cast. The story here involves a sort of time travel and the pursuit of immortality. Big themes, big action set-pieces, and very big ambitions throughout! Send us your thoughts on the show and recommendations for future episodes to [email protected] or [email protected].
