Episode 243 - The Influence of Missionaries

American Christians have sent missionaries around the world for generations. Adoniram Judson was known as the “Father of American Missions.” He and his wife Nancy were the first overseas missionaries from North America spending 40 years in Burma. Missionary families like the Judsons were willing to leave comfortable lives to preach the Gospel in far away lands, start churches, translate the scripture and care for hurting people. Romans 10:14 asks, “How shall they hear without a preacher?”The Great Commission has motivated countless believers to sacrifice so others could hear about Christ. And I believe it is our obedience to the Great Commission that has contributed to America’s strength and real beauty. May we continue to “Send the Gospel Light” into all the world.
