(Photo Credit: Miikka Järvinen) The guests for this episode are members of the Finnish melodic death/doom metal band Mariana’s Rest, vocalist Jaakko Mäntymaa and guitarist Nico Mänttäri. As they were still trying to find their sound, they feel like they are finally at that point with their newest album Fata Morgana, out now via Napalm Records. This album, which takes a journey into the realms of isolation, took on a new meaning as the band and the whole world went into quarantine as a global pandemic spread. During our conversation, we talked about the making of Fata Morgana and how this album represents a monumental landmark creatively for the band, along with diving into the culture of their homeland Finland and much more.
