Episode 244 Nathan Lake

from In squash - The Podcast · host In Squash Podcast

Throughout the 2021/22 season, Nathan Lake was hitting his stride; promising results, his first ever English cap as a senior team member, and an injection of self-confidence heading into the tail end of the season. Unfortunately, a jam packed schedule caught up with him and he was forced to retire due to injury in round 1 of the Tournament of Champions back in May of this year. Since then, he's found his game again and is ready to hit the ground running when the season resumes in 2023. Nathan talks about the ups of last season, and the frustration of having it end the way it did. We also talk about his squash backstory, meeting Haley Mendez at the world juniors several years back, grueling sparring seasons with George Parker and Joel Makin, and his newfound passion for American sports. Also, Nathan Lake is sponsored by Open Squash, check them out at www.opensquash.org
