Episode 245 - Welcome Ryan from Recycled Percussion - Recapping his Hiking the 4000 Footers challenge

Welcome to Episode 245, this week we are joined by Ryan Vezina of Recycled Percussion. Ryan went viral last fall for participating in a New Hampshire hiking challenge where with no experience, he attempted to hike all 48 of New Hampshire's 4000 Footers in 7 days. He ultimately missed the 7 day mark but was successful in completing the challenge in 11 days total. Ryan gained a lot of attention and some controversy during the attempt and we covered the event on a dedicated episode back in October of last year. We've been in touch with him on and off and schedules have finally aligned to allow us to sit down with him to get his perspective. We will also learn about his background in other endurance activities and he will share more about his music and media activities. All this plus, its time to start planning for the 9-11 memorial on the summit of mount washington, a 91 year old hiker completes the AT, Flash Floods in the Grand Canyon, and we caught up with friend of show Dave Shits in the Woods as he left the White Mountains and is now entering Maine.   About Our Guest  Chaos and Kindness store - https://chaosandkindness.store/ On instagram  On Facebook  Recycled Percussion - https://www.recycledpercussion.com/ On Instagram  On Facebook  Tour Dates - Cake Theater  https://slasrpodcast.com/     Topics Welcome back Stomp again Search and Rescue trends  SLASR Crew and Ryan rate out summer  9/11 Memorial on Mount Washington next week  Greybeard becomes the oldest hiker to complete the Appalachian Trail Full Conditions Update  Rescue Me 5K  Dave Shits in the Woods update  Welcome Ryan from Recycled Percussion and Chaos and Kindness - starts at the 26 minute mark  Show Notes Apple Podcast link for 5 star reviews SLASR Merchandise SLASR LinkTree SLASR's BUYMEACOFFEE Order Hike Safe Card 48 Peaks website Nick's Instagram 9-11 Memorial on Mt Washington Greybeard completes the AT Rescue Me 5k Sponsors, Friends  and Partners Rek' lis Brewing Company Wild Raven Endurance Coaching burgeonoutdoor.com 48 Peaks - Alzheimer's Association Mount Washington Higher Summits Forecast Hiking Buddies  Vaucluse - Sweat less.
