Episode #25: Chiropractic, Mental Health, Fear, A Heavy Heart... It’s Complicated
from The High Cost of Anonymity Podcast: Exploring the Cost of Keeping Your Life Experience to Yourself · host Preston Moore, K Preston Moore
Most mornings I wake up full of fear. It doesn’t always feel like fear but it’s there... more like an uneasiness in my gut, like a low hum. I’m always worried that “they’re” going to find out. You know, find out that I don’t know what I’m doing!!! I also consistently feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. One of the reasons I tell you this is, many times I think everyone else has “it” together and has figured “it” out. Well, I’m in the same group as most of you... trying to figure it out and do my best to not let anyone know I don’t know what I’m doing! One of the reasons I love talking about personal development, recovery and mental health is, it’s the shiz I need to hear myself. When I give people life advice or direction, ultimately, I’m talking to me just as much as I’m talking to them. Speaking of my chiropractors, Eric and Jasmine at Active Edge Chiropractic in Grandview Ohio, the best chiropractors I’ve ever been to! Not to discount my longtime buddy Kevin “Super Duper” Hall in Austin who also does chiropractic and functional medicine. Wholistic Chiropractic care is an area Sarah and I use as a primary part of our healthcare. I think everyone should use some sort of wholistic medicine like Chinese medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic, aromatherapy, oils, etc. Our family has had so many benefits from this type of natural medicine. DO IT... if you can of course! The other thing I talk about in this episode is my Heavy Heart. Hearing about these shootings that happened over the weekend. One of them was one hour from my house. The answers are always complicated and most of my peeps don’t agree, yet doing nothing seems to be the norm. One of the things that hit me is, the shooter in Dayton Ohio killed 9 people in less than one minute... you can’t do that with a handgun, rifle or shotgun. The other thing that’s not being talked about is almost, if not everyone of the people that chose to pick up a gun and start shooting people were on some sort of psych meditation. You know, the ones that are supposed to help level out our emotions and also take away our ability to empathy and sadness for taking someone’s life. It’s a sad time and I’m not sure anyone really knows what they’re doing. ♥️
