Episode 25: John Whitcomb, UAB football Quarterback 1992-1994

Join me as I talk with a pioneer for the UAB football program, Mr. John Whitcomb. John played for the Blazers in the transition from Division III to 1-AA (Current FCS) and was led by the program's first head coach Dr. Jim Hilyer. If you flip through a UAB football media guide records section you will find John's name over 70 times. He made that big of an impact playing for the Blazers and many of his records still stand to this day. John tells some fantastic stories and gives great insight into what it was like in his playing days picking apart opposing defenses. We also talked about playing with other greats Derrick Ingram, Cedrick Buchannon, and Pat Green among others.
