Featured Interview: Rev. Deb Mitchell Deb Mitchell was quite like millions of her time and place, comfortable in a middle class life with a good job at a major corporation. Without meaning to, she held advantage that she didn't even know she had over others. Eventually as her world grew larger than her Midwestern roots reached, Deb became more and more attuned to the dimension of life that had gone unnoticed for so long. Thanks to international travel and a changing corporate landscape, Deb was forced to look at things in a whole new way. At the age of 50, and after having become disgusted with the corporate life, she finally answered a call to ministry that had been lurking since her youth. Now she's ordained and serving in the Presbyterian Urban Ministries facility in San Diego, serving a population of homeless and economically disadvantaged folks, and where all the years as a corporate marketing exec for AT&T seem like light years ago. She talks about some of the eye opening, paradigm shifting things that happened along the way. This is a show about awakening to a deeper life that will make you feel, folks. Lee Van Ham dot com? But this month, we're going to get together for a weekend and tease out the whys and wherefores of our work together. Oh, and while he's in town, Doug Clegg, JEM board president and a fiercely talented multi-instrumentalist, will strum some tunes at Rebecca's Coffee Shop in San Diego on Friday night, May 4th.
