Yeah, two weeks. What's new with you, man? So my supervisor at work listens to our podcast. I've got to talk about it, yeah, at our Christmas event.
And she gave it a listen. She actually listened to our first episode, the TV's one. Yeah. She's like, a lot of notes.
She's on the high school is one. Oh, she's going in order. Yeah, she's going in order. She can just skip all those points.
I mean, I did tell her to go to like, like the relationships one is what I start people off with. Yeah. Because I feel like that's a better topic or at least that's when we start to get into our groove a little bit. I mean, we're still changing it up here and there.
Yeah. How could we really found our actual groove here? Yeah, but I feel like that's one more consistent there if you like anyway. But yeah, so she started in order.
She likes it though, just because it's an hour or so like it fits her like commute and everything like that. Yeah, but that's not what the title of this episode. It's not other podcast. No, it's 2019 now.
It is. It's crazy. If you think about it, like nine years ago, I graduated high school. Dang.
Nine years ago. Yeah, eight for you. My high school reunion in one year. Oh, you excited?
My 10 year high school reunion technically is in 2020. It's just crazy. You got one year to do something big. I know, right?
We're going to tell my old high school friends. Yeah, show us some. Yeah, well, we got podcasts now. Yeah, I guess.
We're not huge, but yeah, I know. I don't know, but 2019, 2018, I feel like went by so fast. It did. Right.
It really did. I mean, like what did you do? Anything big? The later half of it was big for me just because I started going to raves and everything like that.
That was probably like the biggest one. It was like going to raves being more social, like meeting all these people that I know now. Like, that's probably like what took up the later half of 2018 for me. But prior to that, I mean, it was, you know, like I got a new job kind of towards the beginning of the year in 2018.
I feel like it would be right. But, you know, it's working, you know, going about life and whatnot. So we had like later half of 2018 picked up for me. What about you?
Like, where was that? Where did I get busy and would not for you? I don't know. Do I want to see like 2018 beginning of it such a blur to me because I had already started the job that I'm at before 2018.
I was like, yeah, I think that might be the same situation. Yeah, I think so. Yeah, right. So I guess it's kind of six months and then 2018.
Yeah, but started that job. Nothing really exciting happened after that. I think 2018 was actually though the one year anniversary of, I mean, it's kind of weird to say one year anniversary, but of the day that my dad had a stroke. Oh, wow.
Yeah. So 28. Yeah, I think so. 2018 was the year, was the year that year anniversary for you.
But that was just crazy because he's, he's coming a long way. Oh, yeah. Yeah, for sure. Like honestly, like when that, not too many people know about this because I don't really talk about it.
Right. But when that happened, like seriously, it was so fucking scary. Like honestly, thought like that was it. Like I would never see him again.
And then, you know, thankfully the doctors at Stanford like saved his life. Yeah. And it was hard at first because he just could not really move or talk. I was open and stuff like after the surgery and whatnot.
And like he just couldn't talk. He was like, just look at us and then just slowly he started getting better and better. Now he's, I mean, granted he's still in like a care home facility and whatnot. But he's talking more.
He could slightly move his right side because that's what was like really affected by the stroke. Right. Right. This whole right side can't stand but he stands for a little bit.
But he's he's coming a long way. Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, he's definitely put in a lot of work for sure.
Yeah. And like you can see it too when you visit him like there's just it not to be like I guess insensitive or kind of like downplaying anything but like the lights are on, you know, like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
He's actually starting to like realize the situation now. Like, yeah, you see recognition in his eyes. I should say. Yeah.
Well, not a bad situation, but he's not in the best situation right now. Yeah. But this just got really pressing. No, it's good news though.
It's really good news. You know, you're doing bad. I mean, there's that and then what else happened? We started this podcast in 2018.

I know. I just I remember back in like I saw whenever it was a new year, you know, like you got to write the date like on your pieces paper. I was a new year. I was like, fuck it up.

Depressing to like what the fuck now. No, I mean, like because I don't know because like it's like 2019 now, right? You're talking about when is the world gonna end? I mean, like, we don't we have we might have some some technology like that. I mean, like, when do you think the flying cars are going to come in or like like when we're 80, like what do you think life would be like that? Okay. So when will we not die?

You know, I posted on our Instagram page, like the other day, talking nonsense on just work, go follow us. A few people replied and gave us some suggestions. And one of them was my friend. I'll read.
She actually suggested today's episode, which is like not really her suggestion since I was already planning on doing it. I feel like you're trying to steal credit. No, no, literally. I told you that we wanted to do this episode on Tuesday.
I posted that thing like two days on Wednesday and then she suggested it. Okay. So yeah, Wednesday, I don't know. This week's been a blur.

What were your goals? One of them, for sure, is to save money. I think that's everyone's goal, right? Yeah.
But like, no one actually really puts a lot of thought into it. I feel like this year I'm trying to put a lot of thought into it. I literally, I printed out like an Excel sheet titled say-things, and like all my expenses, and like my pay, how much I'm getting, and like calculating each month. Oh, it means on January.
Like, I calculated January already, and like I'm planning on doing it for the next few months and hoping to save. By the end of the year, at least a certain amount. I don't have like a set goal. But you should want to have the savings.
Yeah. That's good. So that's one of my goals. Yeah.
Another one is trying to eat healthier, probably lose some weight hopefully. I don't know. Yeah, that's good. Everyone puts that though, right?
Like, you can go to the gym. But I mean, I don't feel like just because of how people say it and how people don't accomplish it doesn't mean it's not worthy for someone to like try, you know? Yeah, that's not what I'm saying. You don't have to say a lot of people put that.
What I'm saying is like my goals aren't, they're all the same as everyone else's. They're not anything unique or different. That's all I'm just trying to say. Does that bother you?

We actually set up-wise and kind of like content-wise. You know, we are putting quality out there. We are putting some series effort into it. We got some nice mics.

But goals for 2019 though. Definitely going to be more assertive. Okay. For one.
I think that's something that's doable. That's something I can work on. Yeah. Definitely want to write a lot more.

I feel like it's too cookie cutter. like oh the AIs are made for for like whatever right and like the guy falls in love with it and he gets his heart broken and that speaks volumes to like whatever kind of like statement you want to make about it I just feel like it's just too cookie cutter to over romanticize and we've talked about it before him and I so yeah well yeah that's kind of a long tangent anyway that's your goals you want to write more I want to write more yeah I definitely want to I've been more social for sure like I made a ton of new friends but one thing I want to start doing is I really want to start going on hikes okay like is that so that you could be more active or just hikes in general because you just want to be on hikes I think it's I think it'll so what I wanted to do this kind of goes in a hand-in-hand with my writing I've always wanted to go on an early morning hike and kind of reach a certain point I just want to take a chair sit there and just write a quick quick story maybe some flash fiction or a one-page or a two-page thing I think that'll help me like at least inspiration wise you know okay you know and then I've always I've always enjoyed walking around aimlessly and just kind of having thoughts and like yeah was it we drove around in your car just one day right where we just driving around that was a lot fun like I feel like a lot of ways to gas yeah something like that at least like you know where it's more about the journey rather than the destination so I feel like that would honestly you're sounding a really cookie cutter right now I'm liking it well 2019 is gonna be my year now you're new me yeah my supervisor actually brought up a good point to you about your user resolutions and stuff like that you know everyone has like a new year's resolutions early at least a majority of people do and she brought up how it shouldn't be at the beginning of a new year where you have a goal to work on certain things it should be a daily thing like you should have goals for yourself daily or at least you can work on yourself daily and I'm like oh that's really a point you know a lot of people tend to right it shouldn't just be one thing we're like by 2020 it should be done it should be like by tomorrow this will be done by Wednesday this will be done stuff like that is that we should I say no I feel like more like whatever date you said you should make progress on it rather than like oh well yeah but I mean like because she brought up the point of sorry to me energy cool she brought up the point how like you do it now because you have two mike okay right yeah like working out most people give up on their workout routine by like a certain date right right whereas I think she's pointing out like instead of having like oh I got to have this done by this date it's like you know probably just day one day to you can not like constantly working on yourself it's like that's a really good one but like the way you're explaining it and it's probably like I don't know maybe because how she explains to you or whatever but to me that just sounds like I mean because with new year's resolutions right sure you can't have like a goal by the end of the year like you want to have something accomplished by the end of the year but most of the time people will push that off the side because they're like oh I got all year to do it right right from what I'm understanding from you it's just what you're surprised at saying like no don't plant till the end of the year plant daily but like so fact check in my mind that is kind of what new resolutions are like no one should be saying like oh I'll get this done by 2020 and then push it off it's more like I want to get this done by 2020 so this is what I'm gonna do daily yeah sure you know what I mean yeah so what I'm just trying to say it just I don't see what her this sounds same yeah I mean I'll probably explain to you that's our boy but yeah no because it's just like you were saying like I super good point yeah because at the time I didn't think about it I you know you thought it was like oh by such a day yeah push it off yeah okay yeah yeah so you know makes sense yeah because that's what so like for you you want to go on hikes and what not yeah but realistically like you have any plan to do that actually yeah okay because you know we're pretty doable you know nice little walk now would this be something that you do only on the weekend because you work full-time yeah it would be a weekend thing that's why you know I would have mine and I would have my notebook and then a nice little chair to just you know something light and then when I find a cozy spot you know pop it open sit-down so right yeah that sounds cool yeah like a good resolution like this so what oh you you were the one I brought what I was trying to write it up the difference between having goals and resolutions yeah I can see that we can move past that that's so funny what I'm trying to never mind I want to be I mean it's not a bad it's pretty much self-explanatory anyone's people listen to that past like five minutes of like not the past five minutes but just goals and resolutions yeah it's literally the same thing I was just I don't know why I said what I said earlier no time I would I told you that I wanted to do this topic and then you yeah I know that's just like I don't know why I said it like it is the same thing yeah any other goals slash resolutions yeah I guess probably you know gone a date lonely lifestyle man no yeah like you know be out there in terms of like you know hopefully gone dates you know be more little social be a little more confident I would say you know that's a good way going on dates through what dating apps or do you know that'd be something different this is it um you know just go to the life I think the end date objective would be like going on the date right um but like how I get that date you know I definitely want to be more social so like maybe trying like approaching people mm-hmm not necessarily through like dating apps though no yeah yeah okay that's you know I feel like at least for me like I tried to set something very I shouldn't say at least for me I think a lot of people try to set realistic goals obviously no one's gonna be like oh become a billionaire by the by 2020 you know yeah but like you can do it yeah you know don't put their dreams down there oh yeah you can do it just yeah you know invest totally play the stock market your whole life savings in one stock you'll be good yeah you know it's not like the S&P drop like 300 points but I have no idea which time I yeah you know I like to set realistic goals for myself like like that so like and I feel like it's something that would force me not force me but because I have an interest in writing you know it's something like I would work on rather than like oh I'm gonna get like a six pack by or like you know because like I you know I do have trouble working out but that's that can be discussed at another time so what about you what about you is what about me I don't know I felt like I was talking about like looking over there man I don't know like stop looking over there I want bothering me honestly I want I wanted to get I felt like I was talking a lot so I just wanted to get all this stuff you're still doing it stop looking over there okay look right here okay I'm not over there I'm over here these are my eyes don't say like that I don't like I mean look away me I mean I told you my goals honestly I'm gonna do say money he healthier yeah those are good goals yeah but maybe like job what I like where I'm at but I definitely need more pay and where I'm at there's not really too much room to like move up to get that more pay so it's like it's a toss-up for me it's either get a new job with better pay obviously everyone's like well yeah dog how come on yeah but at the same time it's like I've only been at this place for a year and I don't want to leave just yet you know I mean like I want to have at least a good amount of time at that position yeah but at the same time knowing that and knowing that there really isn't that much room to but like well fuck that's the catch 22 you know yeah just like well do I say with this it's not shitty but do I stay with this low pay for the experience time or do I go to a new job and just have that one-year experience yeah it's like I don't I don't know what to do what should I do Chris honestly I I feel like a lot of people will often tell you like oh you know like yeah even though you like where you're at you gotta you gotta chase the paper you know you know you gotta go where the money's going and that's a very realistic answer and that's a very logical answer and there's nothing wrong with that but you know me out like I'm an idealist I I have I'm always trying to break number I was trying to break the mold but I you know I mean I like to try to break the mold right so for me like if you're honestly asking my opinion I think if you want to stay here or rather if you want to say at your current spot do that you know like how's that breaking the mold I because I mean I feel like a lot of people would tell you to get a new job oh gotcha okay so I mean like I don't think you'd say for the I think if you were to say it wouldn't be for the little pay but I think it would be for the quality of life in terms of work life you know like yeah it's not a bad job I like my job I feel like a lot of people would pay yeah I mean honestly if you were asking me that would I rather be paid you know $30 an hour being a job that I hate versus like saying where I'm at now probably not making as much money I would say I'm a job now yeah yeah I think everyone can say that you know like it at least for me like like everyone talks about you know money can't buy you happen to this but gets you close right and all that good stuff there's there's certain real is that you can't deny of course you know money can get close to happiness you know you can buy the stuff that you want but I feel like at least if you want to grow yourself internally I think that you should allow yourself to enjoy the positive positivity around you right now or at least the good vibes you know before you set off into that realism yeah because I mean like once reality sets in the world is a shitty place you know there's lots of negativity going around going around and I don't blame anyone for trying to avoid that so you know helicopter so like you necessarily don't have to get all the samples you just have to kill a person who has all the samples or like eliminate all the combatants in the vicinity of the helicopter so yeah that's pretty yeah so are there like zombies in the battle royale with you yeah plus the other actual players yeah so there's like these things called hives where you get the samples from and there's obviously zombies around said hives and then yeah that's pretty interesting pretty and then pretty sure there's a bunch of other games coming out with the battle royale mode yeah one game I am make sure like who's in there so I go in I go in the second bathroom to where the actual toilet is I see her so she's like just slopes like it's like that over the toilet no like she's sitting on the like she's okay yeah yeah I was oh okay I can't be willing to like help her because her pants are all the way off and there's just like puke everywhere so shit I actually have to ask Jess and one of her friends to like you know get her dressed and and all that so that happened and then I would like clean up the puke like I mopped it yeah yeah it was like a lot like all over the place that is yeah yeah so I was like you know I you know I was a trooper about it but what's funny later that night though that same girl she came back she started dancing just completely like like nothing happened so
