On the podcast today, Angie speaks with Malcom Waters, Founding Partner & CEO, BS Sports Management, University of Charleston, MBA Nova Southeastern University. Malcom Waters’ has a wide breath of professional experience spanning across the sports industry and the corporate banking world. His education includes a B.S. in Sports Business Management from the University of Charleston and a MBA in Finance from the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business. In addition, Malcom excelled as a student athlete where he was a key stakeholder in the development of the University of Charleston’s inaugural football program in 2003. He starred as the team’s defensive captain and starting free safety leading the team in tackles from 2003 to 2005. Following life after collegiate athletics, Malcom quickly transitioned into a career within the Sports Industry and then Corporate America. Malcom worked for the NBA organization the Washington Wizards and College Football’s Orange Bowl Committee holding positions in Marketing, Sales and Client Relations. Malcom’s corporate experience includes Fortune 500 companies by the likes of General Motors, Pacific Life, ADP and American Express. His most recent role includes a senior position with American Express in their Top Client Group where he manages multimillion spenders and high net worth cardholders. In his time with these companies he has negotiated and closed millions of dollars in sales revenue, which has warranted distinguished corporate awards and accolades. His career in the sports industry and corporate world has provided him comprehensive experience in contract negotiation, finance and relationship management.
