Episode 26 - Bearpen Mountain Part 1 with Russ L.

Welcome to episode 26 of Inside The Lines: The Catskills! On this episode, I am joined by Russ L and we talk about a former ski center that was on its way to being the best ski center in the north east: Bearpen Mountain. Bearpen Mountain once held a ski center called the Princeton Ski Bowl, which was built and running in the late 1950's. Bearpen, due to its unique shape, attracted more snow than other Catskill peaks and most other mountains in the north east. It was perfect for skiing. In this episode, we talk about the start of the Princeton Ski Bowl and why it was chosen by the owner, Dr. Ben Lane. This is a great intro to the amazing story that Russ tells on his webpage and it was so long, that I had to cut it into two parts!
