Episode 26 - Fading Gigolo

Orson Welles.  Warren Beatty.  John Turturro?  None other than De Jesus himself has taken a stab at being a triple-threat filmmaker: a writer, director, actor.  Was Mr. Turturro successful?  Meh, maybe not.   "Fading Gigolo", as Andrew pointed out, is a movie about New York, made by New Yorkers, and for New Yorkers.  The scant plot concerns Fiorovante, a gentle florist who is coerced into becoming a male prostitute to line the coffers of his buddy, Murray (played by Woody Allen!). Interestingly, women are eager to get it on with the orchid man, even though they never see him until the evening in question.  None of the women challenge him in any way either, they are all eager to do it and be his love slave.  And pay him handsomely for it.  Hmm, vanity project, Mr. Turturro?  Phil would have liked this film probably 100% more if it featured David Lee Roth in a cameo.  But alas, fortune smiles not sweetly enough upon "Fading Gigolo."
