Send us Fan MailStuart started at 7 years old swim training and was put in with older kids and adults. Constantly having to keep up meant he improved quickly.  Always long distance races in the pool. County level podiums at 400, 800 & 1500m & raced at Midland District.Unfortunately at 15 he fell out of a tree and broke his arm and dislocated his shoulder. He had to have pins put in and had a massive setback to swim training. Once he recovered from the surgery, his humerus had grown and the pins were then rubbing on the  muscle and had to have further surgery to have the pins out. He had one more season but it was to be his last.He also changed his swim focus to Open Water.  Nationally he made it to 8th in the Grand Prix series as the youngest competitor. After a few years of various events, he started his multisport journey doing 5 triathlons in a row. Using his strengths of swimming and biking he decided to qualify for an agegroup aquathon, which he did and competed in Ibiza and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and got a silver medal in his agegroup. He followed this by qualifying for the worlds in Pontevedra but couldn't afford to go. In the future Stuart fancies going long really long by doing the Arc to Arc, but has still unfinished business with agegroup aquathon. This Episode also features the first in several chats about Mental Health in Athletes with Dr Pippa Jayne NHS Psychiatrist. In the first part we discuss Depression and Anxiety. You can listen to this AMP episode and all the others on most podcast platforms and now we a have our own YouTube channel : AMP GBFind us Instagram amp_1967Twitter  agegroupmultisportpodcastFacebook AMPGBYouTube GBWebsite is : agegroupmultisportpodcast.buzzsprout.comemail: agegroupmultisportpodcastEpisode is LivePublished: Mar. 31, 2021 @ 9AM EditUnpublishTranscript is LiveEdit or Delete transcript.UnpublishAdd Chapter MarkersListeners can tap through & see what’s coming up.Create a Visual SoundbiteBest way to share to social media for engagement.Share Episode On FacebookTwitterLinkedInMore OptionsEmail Link to EpisodeDirect Link to MP3Embed this ONE EpisodeView Episode StatsSupport the show
